About The Shadowbox Pendant Earrings

Pair of elegant sterling pendant earrings, Navajo handmade. Though not marked these drops are a work to be proud of !

Perfectly cut, shaped and graduated, each earring consists of three domed shadowbox settings, each containing a single beautifully shaped and bezeled natural blue turquoise stone. The smallest setting serves as a post-backed ear fastening from which the others are suspended, attached one to the next with soldered handmade chain links.

These wonderful lobe ornaments are strikingly attractive, very wearable and totally midcentury to 21st century modern ! We added large sterling clutches on the posts for added security and comfort !

About Navajo

The Navajo were the first of the Native Americans of the Southwest to learn silversmithing from the Spanish. Most Navajo jewelry emphasizes silver, with turquoise stones used as an accent. Some pieces are cast in sand or tufa molds, while others are hammered, using a male stamp and a female die.
