Min was asked to express some imagery to reflect his family's choice to reside in the Southwestern United States.
His portrayal is sensitive. The figure is tending a fire relating to food preparation. The positioning of the two teepees implies a community or closely associated occupants for the purpose of safety. The birds overhead convey the presence of nature overhead.
Born in 1995 in the Mawker Refugee camp in Thailand, Min is from the mountains between Burma & Thailand.
When asked who taught him to paint, he responded "the teachers at the refugee camp when I was just 9 years old".
Lin Min prefers to paint landscapes, as he finds nature beautiful, giving him much pleasure. A book titled Games Played in Mae La Refugee Camp describes Lin Min's experience in the camp, illustrated in color by Lin Min Naing. This book can be ordered through www.lulu.com.
An avid soccer player, Min came to the United States in August 2008 along with his parents and his three sisters.
