About Olly & Suzi

Olly & Suzi have been making art together since they met in 1987 as degree students at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design in London. Their on-going collaboration was cemented while on scholarship to Syracuse University in New York in 1988/89. In America they encountered Native American Indian art and mythology and were inspired by the underlying respect for nature and animals. They formalized their mission as artists - to make art in response to their own journeys. Olly and Suzi exhibited throughout Germany in the early nineties. In 1993 they decided to leave the confines of their studio and make their work on site in the wild. This resulted in over 30 expeditions to remote Arctic, desert, ocean and jungle regions in search of predators and prey and the habitats in which they live. In 2001 Olly & Suzi staged a major year-long retrospective of their work in the wild at The Natural History Museum in London while working there as Artists in Residence.
