About The Desertscape

Weston is entirely adept in his handling of watercolor in this painting. Strong contrast yields weight to the prickly pear pads. The soft treatment of the desert grasses implies distance as the composition recedes visually.

About Larry Weston

(Born circa 1948) Weston has made his mark as a oil and watercolorist whose work has been reproduced often. His teaching skills have also been a large focus as he has worked as a traveling instructor for the University of Oklahoma's Continuing Education Department conducting workshops in the U.S. and beyond. In all he has presided over in excess of 500 painting workshops.

Weston's work is currently represented in three of North Light Book art publications. He has also served as judge in many local, regional and national art shows.

Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, this artist has pursued painting since his first exposure in the first grade. He is a signature member and a past President of the Southwestern Watercolor Society.
