This is a decorative jar with tremendous "eye" appeal, as glazes bleed into one another, suggesting a fogging hill reference. 

Thrown on a wheel, its walls are thin, clearly the work of a professional potter.

Buy it because you like it (which is hopefully is true of all your purchases).

The potter's name is written, but as this woman who last lived in California is not around to school us, more is not known about the pot's maker, other than the name written underneath.
