About The Magical Rainbow God Earrings w/ Ribbed Buttons

Stunning pair of rainbow god earrings!

Beautifully crafted inlay--18 carefully cut-to-fit stones in each figure! Using Blue Gem turquoise, jet, pearl shell and red spondulous shell, the Zuni artist created two lively, wonderful figures, mirror images of each other.

The dramatic silverwork is Navajo. The buttons ornamenting the comfortable heavy gauge wires are also pre-World War II and from Navajo hands.

These earrings are more than attractive jewelry. They are a perfect example of cultural collaboration to create romantic memories of the Southwest for early 20th century visitors. It is through these masterfully-made momentos that the Native artists and this golden time are felt and remembered today.
