About The Golden Dogs of Autism (Nelleke Nix-2009 copyright)

Golden Dogs of Autism is an artist's book, printed on Italian Magnani Velata archival paper, entirely bound by hand, within a special hand-made "tunnel" adapted binding.

This book describes the development of a charitable foundation which provides specially bred and trained Golden Retrieves to autistic children. The foundation is all volunteer and has successfully placed dogs since 1996, without any governmental grants.

Besides the wonderful thought-provoking original art, one finds interesting and moving true stories written by the artist-author from information and storylines provided by the founder of the Hairy Angel Foundation, Fran Elliott and the volunteers involved in training and raising puppies as well as by recipients of trained Assistance dogs.  The book was made possible through a gift from the A.B. Farrington Foundation.

SavvyCollector.com will forward all of the proceeds from the sale of this book to the Hairy Angel Foundation TM , the organization breeding, training and placing these dogs with autistic children.
