Freeman's southwestern landscapes are easy on the eye, rather restful.
(Born 1927) Described in Peggy and Harold and Samuels' book Contemporary Western Artists as a painter and sculptor of Western wildlife, horses and landscapes, Freeman was taught to make art by his mother.
An itinerant cowboy in Arizona, New Mexico, California, Wyoming and Massachusetts, he wrangled horses in summer and worked cattle in winter on ranches and dude ranches. Freeman joined the Arizona Game Department ot gain skills for wildlife painting.
Over many years Freeman was represented by Trailside Galleries in Scottsdale, Arizona. Galleries West Fine Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming currently handles Freeman's paintings.
