Frequently Asked Questions
- Why Rely on SavvyCollector's Concept of Price?
- I have been an art appraiser since 1975 and take tremendous pride in my profession. From time to time various entities have tried to encourage inaccuracies from me... without success. My 30+ years of experience as a Fine Art and Native American art appraiser certified by the American Society of Appraisers guides me in carrying out my research.
- Is the Art Authentic?
- Art with questionable authorship is not chosen for the SavvyCollector website. A certificate of authenticity can be provided with artwork upon request.
- What About the Condition of the Art?
- I offer full disclosure. Information about the art's condition is listed on it's item page, and we are happy to help by phone or email with any questions or clarifications about an item's condition that you may have.
All of our art is inspected before being considered for sale, and badly damaged works are not included in the gallery.
- Where do you Find These Fantastic Pieces?
- Estates are the main source. Individuals inheriting wonderful art that does not reflect their taste often consign it to SavvyCollector. Downsizing adults may also choose to consign in order to avoid a rushed and often imprudent selling experience. More recently, individuals have chosen to consign to SavvyCollector to convert non-performing assets into spendable revenue.
- Is the Merchandise Carefully Packed?
- Items are frequently double-boxed. If you notice a damaged container before the shipping person departs, insist on opening the package in front of the delivery person. If it is discovered later, save all packing materials and call both the shipping company and SavvyCollector within 24 hours. Art is shipped fully insured, and we will happily work with you to resolve issues such as these.
- Do you Ship Overseas?
- Yes. To date, SavvyCollector.com has shipped to buyers in Australia, Canada, Denmark, England, Germany, Holland and Italy. Credit card charges are 2% higher for foreign charges for which the buyer is responsible.
- What if I do not Like the Art when it Arrives?
- If you are not pleased with your purchase, you must first contact us to arrange for a return. Please return it promptly, fully insured, in the same condition you received it. You are responsible for the expense of shipping and insuring the art both to and from the gallery, as well as any corresponding credit card charges. Returns must be made in ten (10) days.
Please know that if we have misinformed you about an item, the expenses of returning it are ours.
- What Kind of Payments do you Accept?
- Credit cards accepted include: American Express, Visa, Mastercard and Discover.
Personal checks, money orders and cashiers checks are accepted as well. SavvyCollector.com also accepts gradual payments (often known as layaways) for collectors with appetites larger than their monthly budgets.
Please note that we currently do not accept Paypal.
- How are Shipping and Insurance Charges Established?
- You will be notified of these charges as they can vary with different destinations. Shipping is not our profit center; our charges are your charges.
