Frequently Asked Questions

Why Rely on SavvyCollector's Concept of Price?
I have been an art appraiser since 1975 and take tremendous pride in my profession. From time to time various entities have tried to encourage inaccuracies from me... without success. My 30 plus years of experience as a Fine Art as well as Native American art appraiser guides me in carrying out current research.
I review primary transactions which means contacting galleries, artist's agents, or in some cases the artists when they are the sole purveyor. I confidently stand behind my work and my online gallery. Browse around and let's discuss what you like.
Is the Art Authentic?
Art with questionable authorship is not chosen for the SavvyCollector website. I provide a certificate of authentication with artworks purchased on request.
What About Condition?
I offer full disclosure. You are never made to guess about this important aspect. Art is inspected before it is considered for sale. Art works are photographed and a condition report is issued before art is shipped.
Where do You Find These Fantastic Pieces?
Estates are the main source. Individuals inheriting wonderful art that does not reflect their taste prompts consignment to SavvyCollector. Downsizing adults choose to consign, to avoid a rushed and often imprudent selling experience. More recently individuals consign to SavvyCollector to convert non-performing assets into spendable revenue.
Is the Merchandise Carefully Packed?
Items are frequently double-boxed. If you notice a damaged container before the shipping person departs, insist on opening the package in front of the delivery person. If it is discovered later, save all packing materials and call the shipping company and SavvyCollector within 24 hours. Art is shipped fully insured.
Do you Ship Overseas?
Yes, to date SavvyCollector has shipped to art buyers in Australia, Canada, Denmark, England, Germany, Holland and Italy. Credit card charges are 2% higher for foreign charges, for which the buyer is responsible.
What if I Do Not Like the Art When it Arrives?
If you are not pleased with your purchase, you must first contact SavvyCollector to arrange for a return. Please return it promptly, fully insured, in the same condition you received it. You are responsible for the expense of shipping and insuring the art both from and to the gallery, as well as any corresponding credit card charges. Returns must be made in ten (10) days.
Please know that IF we have misinformed you about the item, the expense of returning it is ours.
What Kind of Payments do You Accept?
Credit cards taken include: American Express, Visa, Mastercard and Discover. Personal checks, money orders and cashiers checks are accepted as well. SavvyCollector offers gradual payments (known as layaway) for collectors with appetites larger than their monthly budgets.
How are Shipping and Insurance Charges Established?
You will be notified of these charges as they can vary with different destinations. Shipping is not our profit center. Our charges are your charges.
