Description:: Dennis & Nancy Edaakie worked and signed their jewelry together beginning in 1975. Dennis is cited as a "top prize winning jeweler specializing (in concert with his wife Nancy) in engraved and mosaic inlay jewelry. He is considered one of the first to make reversible inlay pendants. . . Taught by his uncle, Jake Haloo, a master Zuni jeweler. . . Two of his customers promoted his making mosaic songbirds. His cardinal in 1971 won 1st place at Inter-tribal Indian Ceremonial in Gallup." Gregory Schaaf’s American Indian Jewelry I 1200 Artist Biographies. More recently (2001 and 2002) Edaakie has won Best of Show at two different Indian markets for his mosaic work.
